Jason Gosch

I have been dancing since 2008 and first fell in love with blues and swing via house parties and Sunday night events. I started helping organize events and exchanges in 2010 and shortly thereafter began caring about the quality of music at those events. My true passion for DJ’ing comes from my two “parents” – blues dancing’s musicality and swing dancing’s energy! I now help run Fuze-On Tampa Bay, overseeing all the musical aspects of the monthly dance. I look forward to bringing a ton of new music that’ll strum your heart’s G string and fill your soul with all the energy you need to dance until sunrise this year at Blues N Soul!

Sami Gerwick

Sami enjoys watching dancers on and off the dance floor having a great time. His balanced and diverse selection of songs will enable dancers to utilize their full creativity, leaving them energized and ready for the next tune. Each song feels like a different experience, while maintaining a certain flow from the last.

Throughout the night, the tempo of songs in his sets rises and falls in order to transmit hierarchy and variety. It also ensures that dancers of all levels can enjoy themselves. He focuses on possibilities for musicality and moments for a dancer to incorporate jazz steps, breaks and style into their Lindy Hop.

Sami picks each song with care, ensuring that the instrumentation and vocals utilized create rhythm & melody that maintain a high energy on the dance floor. These songs engage dancers to feel the music and add that energy into their dancing and in turn encourage their dance partner to do the same.

Sam Mahfoud

Sam has been dancing, DJing, teaching, and organizing dance events for over 20 years in the Tampa Bay area, where he’s best known as the Director of Swing Time. He’s been dancing blues since before anyone really knew what to call “that improvisational dance you do to slow blues music”. In 2010, he organized a blues dance at the Pinellas Park Auditorium, which had the honorable distinction of being Tampa Bay’s first-ever blues dance that WASN’T held in a bar or at somebody’s house. In 2014, he helped start Tampa Bay’s Fusion Dance scene. In 2017, he started a monthly dance called SOUL NIGHT, held 2nd Fridays at the Gulfport Casino, which was an instant hit and just finished it’s 20th event! As DJ for Soul Night, Sam keeps a crowd of 150-250 dancers moving & grooving on the dance floor, and coming back every month to hear a unique blend of retro and modern Funk, Soul, Disco, Motown, and Rhythm & Blues.

Jamie Lynn

Dancer, photographer, DJ; Jamie Lynn has been involved in the swing and blues scene since 2004 all over Florida. Jamie has traveled much of the east coast, dancing, capturing photos of dancers, and playing music that makes you wanna move. Jamie loves a wide variety of music and enjoys playing songs you maybe never thought to dance to before (but are totally amazing to dance to) along with the songs we all know and love. Her favorite feeling is to look out on a floor full of dancers, dancing to a song she chose specially for them.

Pierce Collins

Pierce has been a regular DJ for Atlanta’s Menagerie Fusion since its inception in 2015, and enjoys bringing a wide variety of sounds to dancers. He loves flowing through different energy levels and instrumentations, exploring genres from Glitch to Flamenco to RnB, and nothing makes him happier than people dancing to music they’ve never heard before and saying “That was awesome! What was that song?”

Shyanne Taylor

Joining us from Tampa, FL! DJ Shyanne started out dancing in Tampa, FL and now makes her way around the state as much as she can. With over a year of DJing for the local Blues and Fusion scene behind her, she’s learned just how to keep the energy up and feet moving.

Peter Schmidt

Joining us from Orlando, FL! DJ Pete discovered dancing as a freshman at the University of Central Florida in 1999. It was the joy of the community that started his journey from two left feet to an energetic, passionate dancer. Today, the connection he finds on the dance floor is pure happiness and helping to create that for others through music selection is a great bonus. Each dance group has it own energy and every dance its own style. DJ Pete’s range of musicality pumps the night with creative sound and his ear for the crowd keeps them shaking it all night on the hardwood.
